Yes, they do & yes, it's scary! Mind you we didn't find out they had bed bugs until we were
sitting in their apartment and they casually mentioned it.
Needless to say, we "remembered" we had something very important to do and had to rush off and... do that thing... Once home, we went straight to the basement, stripped down to our birthday suits and washed everything in extra hot water with extra detergent!! My tote bag was quarantined outside for almost a week.
Don't despair though, they usually don't pop up out of no where. Her in-laws got the bed bugs from a carpet they brought back from India. She stayed with them a while and that's how she brought the bugs to her apartment.
