I work in a house that is a group home for homeless teens, ten of them to be exact. about 3 years ago the agency replaced the flooring in the kitchen, dining and laundry rooms with laminate floors because of their reputation being very durable. let me tell you that 10 teens can cause way more potential damage than a few little yorkies! But the floors have held up great! there is some water damage but that is near the washing machine which is also close to a bathroom, both of which have broken and leaked causing the water damage. The kids spill stuff and leave spots of water on the floor constantly, but they still look great, don't scratch easily, and clean up well. I'd say you don't have anything to worry about!!
