That's interesting. I wonder if it is a regional thing. It's just the opposite here. The smaller dogs are the ones you have a problem placing here--the bigger dogs are more likely to get a home. And shelters here usually place the adults easier than puppies.

I had a shelter employee tell me not long ago that any dog that comes through their doors that looks like a lab or has lab in it never stays that long. She says that is why when they have adoption days at PetSmart they are sure to take a few of them because they know they can place them.
