I don't mean to keep harping on this but, please think about suggesting UT to the breeder. She may be too small for most vets to do the surgery, but UT can do Liver Shunt surgery on very very small dogs and the odds of them surviving are much higher at UT. They saved one of my rescues with LS that no other vet would even attempt surgery on.

Maybe he would be willing to release her to a member close to Knoxville who would be willing to pay for the surgery? I live close to Nashville but if I lived in Knoxville I would take her in a heart beat.

Prayers for you and little Rio

I agree... A lot of vets won't even attempt something like that because most vets don't have THAT much experience with it. But the doctors at UT really work miracles.
