My dogs have free run of the house and all the furniture, including the beds. They usually sleep with us, but sometimes sleep in our son's room. They never had an accident in bed or on any furniture, and never chewed anything that wasn't theirs.
They are big boys (9 and 12 lbs), so jumping on and off furniture is no problem. We don't allow them to jump off the bed and they obey that. They are good little boys.
