The best part of having a Yorkie is that they do not shed and don't smell like a bigger dog. So why not have them on the furniture and sleep with them? I don't want to have mine on the floor all the time. We put a foot stool at one side of the bed so that she can get on and off easier. She sometimes misses when she jumps on the couch and then gets embarrassed. I love having her close, and it was my husband who decided that she needed to sleep with us.
