They are really to express !!!!! The anal glands are at 4:00 and 8:00 in relation to the anus. You just find them in that area, they are like a small grape when full and w/ your thumb and forefinger you have to squeeze toward the anus and at the same time pull away from the dog. The liquid will pop right out. You have to squeeze a little hard, sometimes they will pop........ I do Cuddles while I am bathing her, then you can wash them clean...... Very easy to do......BUT GROSS..........
