I'm not sure who you were responding to, but I'll answer from my standpoint. Savannah went into heat at about 7 months. You should never breed a dog on their first heat. I waited until her second heat, which was about 7 months after that and then I bred her. I bred her to a Yorkie that was only CKC registered and I lost a sale of a puppy because she wasn't AKC. I didn't know any better when I bred her, but I do now. We just bred her again with an AKC Yorkie and I expect these puppies to be adorable. The male was just under 3 lbs. Normally Savannah is 4 lbs., but she's gotten a little chubby. I'm changing her diet to get her back down to 4 lbs. where she's supposed to be.

She had 3 puppies the first time I bred her, but one was born dead, so only two lived. All 3 were little girls. I hope she has little girls this time, too! I may keep one of them. I printed out a lot of stuff on the internet about what to expect and I was very prepared for the births. She had them exactly on the 63rd day, starting around 11:00 p.m. and ending at 4:30 a.m.
