Default Some Additional Resources

Care Credit will not pay for the entire surgery so be prepared to raise some of the money on your own such as selling some items you don't need. It can also be difficult to get approved so you may need to have friends or family members apply for you if you get turned down. You may also want to try some of the organizations that give grants (money that does not have to be repaid) to people who can not afford vet care. A list of some of those organizations can be found here:

www.cavycareinc.org/help_w_vet_bills.htm

I have heard good things about www.imom.org and www.Angels4Animals.org.

I'm sure that this has already been mentioned but get a second opinion and call some other vets to see how much they charge for the surgery. Its been my experience that pricing for this surgery can vary widely by vet. This is a very common surgery and should not be too expensive. That being said, you want to choose the vet you believe will do the best job and not the cheapest. Also do some research because there are various methods that vets use to fix a LP. Maybe someone in your area can recommend a good vet that has performed this surgery on their baby.

I really hope that everything works out for you and my prayers go out for your precious little boy.
