I totally agree with contacting a Yorkie rescue. I recently adopted a rescue after filling out a lengthy application, giving references, having a phone interview and having a home visit. They are very careful and try to place each dog with a perfect match so it will not have to be rehomed again. They really are in the best interest of the dog.
