 over heated yorkies?
Fast Eddie...I have been told that all dogs pant because they don't sweat as easily as us...my vet said that Yorkies are vulnerable to heat stroke...I carry a bottle of water and a tiny dish on our walks.....but I don't take him out during the heat of the day......he got overheated on the beach in Galveston last week......panting very fast....heart rate very fast......lethargic.....listless....I gave him a cool bath.....put him front of a fan......and offered him water....he drank alot then didn't move for an hour....I am going to be more careful from now on........I don't know how long your walks are but he does need water if you are gone for awhile. |
