Post Read up!!

all I can say is read as much as you can about dogs, puppies, and most importantly Yorkies. This site has been AMAZINGLY helpful as I was also a new puppy mommy and wanted to do the best job ever when I got my little guy. He is now almost 5 months and I am really pleased with how well he is turning out. read about crate training for potty training. I recommend potty pads, mine goes on them on his own EVERY time... no accidents ever! but it was a pain to train him for almost 2 weeks straight when he was only 8 weeks old. Worth it though! I also did puppy classes at Petsmart to help with socialization. He now knows sit, down, leave it, come (most of the time), drop it, no, and uh ah. Expose him/her to EVERYTHING before he is 16 wks old. Hair dryers, vacuumes, riding in the car, being alone, loud noises, different people and dogs, and anything you can think of that he might be fearful of later in life because he will learn that all these things are okay and not to freak out about them. Good Luck!! let us know how it goes!!
