Ferdinand doesn't really pull at all. He will if there's another dog's poo or pee that he wants to sniff, but I just tell him "leave it" and he continues on his merry little way. I taught him not to pull over the course of about a week. Every time he would start to pull, I would give him a gentle tug on the leash (he wears a buddy belt, so it didn't hurt him), tell him "no", stop, and tell him to sit. Once he sat for a couple seconds I would say "Okay, let's go" and he would walk nice. Any time he started to pull, I repeated the process.
