In my experience, if you ship to Canada from USA and mark it as a gift it has to be worth $10 and LESS to not pay any import fees. Anything above $10 and they still have to pay fees. I use USPS global but there is no tracking there. They do open and check to see what is inside a lot of times. It is always better to be honest and not get your receiver in trouble by underestimating the value.
