A very good family friend of ours had 2 yorkies. We live out in the desert and there are a bunch of owls and hawks surrounding our houses. One afternoon, the boys were in the back yard going potty and an owl swooped down and attacked one of the boys. They now only have one yorkie.
It was horrific to say the least. The owl did not carry him away (he was 4lbs), but it did attack him and killed him. Very very sad - I would NOT leave the pup unattended.
