Car Leaving your pet with someone else....any stories???

I don't often leave Mojo at home or with a sitter when away, but there have been a few times that I have had to.

I thought it would be neat to hear the stories (horror stories, fun times, etc) that might have happened while your beloved Yorkie (or pet) was with a sitter........

I have two that I will start with........

First, my DH, daughter and I flew to Disney World several years ago...we had a little Shihtzu then. He stayed w/ my inlaws while we were away. The trip had started off bad from the beginning because I had a severe allergic reaction to some medicines and had to get several shots, etc.....plus, I was just one big walking hive....I was just red and swollen and itchy for the flight and then most of the first week we were there. We called back home about each night or day. Everything seemed fine. It wasn't until we got back to our airport, that we called to let them know we would be home in a few hours that we were told there had been an accident. Our Shihtzu had been "rolled" kicked by one of their horses...how?? They let him outside off leash, he had never been around horses and got in the pen w/ them. He had most of his ribs broken, a broken leg, etc. I was alittle upset that they hadn't told us before. Course, he was okay and they paid for the vet bills, etc. So, all was good.

My next story isn't really a horror story, but one that some might have run into themselves. Again, we had went on a trip (can't remember where) and my inlaws were watching Mojo. I had boiled some chicken and rice and gave it to them w/ a label for just in case he has an upset tummy, etc. (I label everything) - plus, he has a sensitive tummy. I get home and he ate nothing but chicken and rice all the days we were gone. She said that he wouldn't eat his food...well, of course because she was feeding him the other stuff all day! No harm done....just aggravating.

So, does anyone have any stories they would like to share......good, bad.....I think it would be interesting to see situations that come up while we are away without our pets.
