I am afraid that the one time I am not watching the yorkie like a hawk something will happen to her. Its only normal for a child to want to play with a puppy and I am afraid they will not understand how careful they will have to be with her. I do want to thank each and everyone of you for all your advice, help and discussions with me while I was a part of your board.. I have never ever met any other dog board as nice and helpful as you all and I thank you all for that. I hope everyone and their yorkie have a wonderful time together and maybe in the next 5 or so years lol i will see and talk to you all again. Thanks again!!

Courtney, first: thank you and second thank you again for making a wonderfuly responsible decision. Got to laugh. Some freinds of mine bought a pug puppy a year ago. I ran them through the ringer to such an extent that the husband remarked "If I listened to you long enough, I'd decide not to buy a dog!" I responded "it's better to know what you're getting yourself into before you shell out the big bucks then spend 15 years (if you're lucky!) regretting the decision!" I usually recommend to people looking at toy dogs to wait until their children are at least 6 or 7 years old and that, of course, really depends on the maturity and development of the child and the ability of the parents to keep a watchful eye over both dog and children. Like you said, you need to be there to referee the going ons between children and dog. I applaud you for your decision and wish you the best of luck!
