My vet, whom I love, was charging $530 for spay plus microchip. A friend recommended a spay and neuter clinic where they charged $65.00 plus $18.00 for pain meds. Since my friend was happy with them, I went there and was extremely pleased! The vet was this super nice older gentleman, who was very experienced and knew a lot about Yorkies. I spoke to 3 clients in the office who were very positive about their experiences as well. Other vets I asked said these types of clinics are great because they just do these surgeries all day long, so they are very good at them. They were very helpful and nice and I am so glad I saved over $400.00! Eventhough I had the money - why give it to them just because they set their prices high? I still use my regular vet for everything else.
