I haven't gotten Ranger to the vet yet ( I just started a new job) but I did shave him. It was my first time ever to use clippers so he was just as scared as I was. But after two nights he's shaved and looks decent for the most part. The legs haven't lost any more hair and I found what looked like a bite on his hind leg
(we had an invasion of fire ants and even I got bit twice). I could tell that he had been nibbling on it, but it went away over the weekend and he has quit biting. I couldn't see the bite until I had shaved him b/c the rest of his hair was pretty long and thick. So now Ranger is silver and hopefully all the hair will grow back in. If his condition doesn't improve then it will be mentioned when he gets neutered in the future. Thanks for your concern and suggestions!!
