Take that baby off of all food for one day. Give only water and some Nutri-Cal. After a day of cleansing, cook some "white" rice (about a cup cooked) and add a boiled egg to the rice. I use a potato masher to make sure it's mashed up really well. Feed this mixture several times a day as long as the puppy is not having any pain. If this works, then feed this for three days. On the fourth day you can add some tofu to the mix and feed for another three days. If that works, then try free range cooked ground beef to the mix for three more days as long as there is no pain. If all this works, then just feed these four things for at least a month. If you ever want to try a veggie, then make sure it's steamed. Like steamed broccoli. That's a very good veggie for them. Only try new foods for three days at a time before going on to anything else. No spices or gravys. If the first five items are well tolerated, you wouldn't need any other food. Just give a nice femur bone to chew on. Boil it first and clean out the marrow and any outside meat. The femur (also called marrow bone) bone does not splinter even after boiling it. |
This would be my advice as well but you may want to substitute the water for Pedialyte. Please stay away from the Beneful. You can do a search and see that while Beneful has not been recalled yet, it is know to cause sickness and even resulted in the deaths of some dogs. I'm sure you can find another food that he likes, just keep trying. Have you tried Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul? That is a great food that even the pickiest dogs seem to like.
The yellow foamy stuff that he threw up could be bile and happens when too much stomach acid builds up overnight. My Bailey has that problem. I have to make sure he eats right before we go to bed and sometimes I get up in the middle of the night to feed him as well.
