I did tons of Journalism and my friend is a photographer, and for both I suggest the mac. She had to do everything on the mac because of the programs, she loves it. I know that I love mine, so simple! But I would see what your school is going to be using the most, thats what I had to do. I know that right now, my college is kinda doing both (wish I would have known that up front)...
