Thanks everyone! I am going to print out this thread to show my husband. He loves our Yorkie, Frankie, very much and is anxious for them to get along quickly.
Last night, he put the two of them in Frankie's crate. Frankie just sat in the corner while our Chi, Chachi, cried to get out. I came out and found what he was doing and was mortified!
My hubby said he's giving it two months, and if they're not getting along well by then, wants to give the new pup, Chachi away. I'm already attached to Chachi and don't want it to come to that. I told my hubby it'll take some time, but he thinks he's the know-it-all dog trainer. (He subscribes to the old-school way of dog training).
Hopefully, this thread will convince him that its going to take some time.
