 It really can be difficult to tell....
Biscuit was just under 3 pounds at 4 months and he is now, full grown 9 1/2 lbs. Way bigger than his parents.
I now have Willow, who at 5 months is 1.7 lbs. I am hoping that she will get to at least 3 1/2 but we'll see. Her parents are 4 and 6 lbs.
I have heard of dogs who were bigger than Biscuit at 4 months and are now only 5 or 6 lbs and I have also heard of tiny puppies(like my Willow) who end up being 4 or 5 lbs. (my fingers are crossed that she ends up having a growth spurt soon!)
It really is just a waiting game-best to judge by your puppy's parents' sizes.But even that doesn't always guarantee! |
