Some people will try everything to scam you. Last year on ebay my hubby was looking at a Harley. Best price he ever had seen, but they would only accept western union as payment (warning!) We corresponded and told them that we had to use paypal, well, that was not accepted we were told. Did some more digging and found out that they "stole" someones user name and were using it to scam people out of money. I reported them to ebay. Ebay will be the first one to tell you to not use western union as a form of payment because it can't be traced. I guess we just have to use our instincts and be on guard at all times. Usually, like they say, if it's too good to be true, it usually is...
