The different price ranges can be contributed to a number of things: how small/big the puppy will be at adult age; any championship bloodlines; show-quality or pet-quality; supply and demand; and of course your location. Another important reason some prices may be high is because as a breeder you want to make sure that the potential buyer is truly interested in caring for the pup and not just wanting to buy an "accessory"...something they can dress up, carry around, because it's the "in thing".

I sell my babies for $650 each and all have been under 4lbs at adult age. However I am very picky as to who I let buy my babies, I know where every single one is and still keep in contact with all owners, we even dog sit for some, they will come and stay the weekend with me...we even have play dates. I have never had to advertise to sell, and if I did I probably would stop breeding...my babies are more family members than anything else, which is why I only breed them once a year. My babies are my life!
