Allergies--Help Dixie is a victim of allergies and it is awful to watch her chew and scratch herself. Had her to the vet about it and she is on her 3rd. antihistamine and it's called Hydroxyz HCL 10mg 2 times a day, and she still scratches about 25% less is all. The next thing to do is have a blood test which will identify what she is allergic to and they would make up a serum and I would give her a shot once a week. This test cost 350.00 and in a few short years we would have to go through this again maybe eliminating some of what she is allergic too. This is all just chance, that some of the serum worked to help her from not scratching. She is only 5 months old and already having problems. At 8 weeks I noticed her scratching thinking she might have a flea. I give her a bath every week.
Is there somebody out there that has a Yorkie with serious allergy's. Maybe there is a simpler way and not so expensive to treating allergies. It hurts me to see her scratch as much as she does. Ginny |
