I have a really big yorkie too... and even i don't know for sure if it's a yorkie or a silky. The breeder's papers say yorkie, and so do my vet's... even when they haven't asked me the breed. I figure they oughta know for sure right? I don't think it matters unless you're planning on breeding, and then, just for the sake of integrity, you should have someone who can actually tell the difference look at your pup. The only think I've noticed is that when they say Silkies have longer snouts... they REALLY have a long snout, and when compared with a yorkie it seems like a pretty obvious difference. Sure there's a variety, but all in all... if you're dog looks well proportioned. and it seems like you have to cut their hair all the time (if you keep it short) you probably have a yorkie.
Congratulations on your yorkie! or silky! or your yirkie, or sorky!
