According to the article from above, NO Bows for silkies. Maybe that is why they think they are silkies? Do you have a bow? They look very similar, but the coat on a Yorkie grows floor length and I don't think a silkie's will. If we cut our dogs shorter, westie trim for instance, they would take on the appearance of a silkie. I personally wouldn't take it as an insult if someone asked if my dog was a silkie, I don't think most people would know the difference. I am usually surprised when people ask if mine are yorkies. It ain't fightin' words!
