I find that a Silkie has a longer muzzle and a coat that is rarely floor length. I do know that some, if not many, commercial breeders have used a Silkie mom and a Yorkie sire because the Silkies are usually larger-they are chosen just because of that- and will produce more puppies with a minimum of cost. Anything for a buck and the public certainly cannot tell the diference. I think that is why there is such variation in the size of the puppies in the same litter- one just got the genes from mom..Well, that is over-simplified.. Next time someone asks a rude question about him just say "Oh, my!! You didn't recognize him as a Silkie (or Yorkie) from one of the largest SHOW kennels in the country?" And leave at that. You are not lying; you didn't say he was! |
