I love my vet.. but his price for spay is 500$, thats a lil excessive in my opinion, So i usually spay my pets at the human society (the one in miami is very clean, great vets ect..) Is that OK?

You can spay your girl wherever you think best. Our vet charged $362, but we had to tack on $150 extra for her to stay overnight at the ER vet since our vet does not have anyone to supervise overnight. Does that $500 include staying overnight with supervision? If so it's not a bad price actually. You might ask around and then make sure the vet can keep her overnight with someone there, otherwise, you can plan on being up all night with your little girl whining and being very uncomfortable. Believe me it's hard to see your baby in pain and miserable. Even with the overnight at the ER, when we picked her up, she looked really pathetic. She clung to me, layed her head on my chest and whined all the way home. We had to give her pain meds up until yesterday and now she's going bonkers because she has to keep the collar on since she managed to wriggle out of the onesies we put on her to keep her from biting her stitches.

How do i clean eye gunk?

There are eye wipes available at the pet store that work really well to wipe the gunk away.

My friend loves her maltese and pretty frequently she uses spray hair glitter (non aerosol, hypo-allergetic) on her. Is that ok for a dog? i dont plan on doing that but i just want to kno.

I don't suppose it's bad for them, altho if they have sensative skin, and many do, you might not want to or you're going to have a dog that itches non-stop.

What a great healthy treat?

We love the Wellness Treats and so does our furbaby. She's crazy about them but they are a little pricey, and our trainer at Petsmart said to change off now and then, so we switch and use the Petsmart treats as well as Honeynut Cheerios now and then. And sometimes we give her a little liverwurst, especially to get pills down.

Do u guys use flexi leads?

We use a flexi-lead to keep our puppy tied to us in the house. When she's out of her crate we keep her tied to us so she can't sneak off and poop somewhere in the house where she's not supposed to. The trainer said that was essential, and it sure helped us get the pooing and peeing thing under control. Otherwise, when we are out in the yard, we use the Flexilead so she can chase her frisbee without running off under the fence or somewhere. But as far as walking her, a flexi lead won't teach her anything about walking according to a professional trainer's book I downloaded online.

Our cats are declawed, and they like to go up at random times and tap our dogs on the head lol they dont seem to mind and it doesnt hurt them, do u think a yorkie pup will be tramatized or something by this?

We had a cat who is 9 years old and she is a real queen, but our little Pookie has challenged her since the moment she moved in. Yorkies are bred to corner small animals and they are gutsy little guys when it comes to chasing anything that runs. So she's not the least bit intimidated by our cat swiping at her. She chases kitty when the can comes in and nips her hind legs. Absolutely no fear.

Can i use puppy nail polish on my pup? has any1 tried and and proven it was safe?

Never tried this. We're having enough trouble just trying to trim her toenails, the two of us holding her, let alone trying to put nail polish on. She won't hold still long enough and Yorkies are so rambuncious that you probably will wind up with nail polish all over you and the dog. So good luck on that one.

how do i tell her that biting is not nice? ive heard a whole bunch of ways but which one is most effective? NO HITTING! some1 once told me to smack my pup on the rear when she bit me while playing. i dont beleive in hitting dogs, especially puppies that are just teething and dont know any better.

Never hit your dog. All you do is teach fear by doing that and you'll have an overly fearful, cringing dog on your hands. Instead, if she nips, (and they all do at first because that's the way they play with each other), our trainer at Petsmart said to make a sound like a dog does when it's hurt, like "ow-ow-ow-ow in a loud tone. That is the way other dogs would sound if the puppy bit them and they understand they hurt you that way.

when shes older. can i bring her to the beach? I am a miami girl after all lol

I don't see why not. But you should probably never let her off leash. Terriers so unpredictable and impulsive that you can't trust them not to take off and not come back even if you call your dog to come back. That's where your flexi leash will probably come in handy.
