no i do not because i have a little boy and i don't feel the need to dress him but will be getting a little girl. even then i still don't mind the fabric department being removed from walmart. there are other sources of fabric. you need to reread my post because no where in it did i say "it was an eyesore!" |
Your right you didn't say it was an eyesore you just said it looks much nicer without it. I really think they should do it demographically because you mentioned there are more outlets for fabric. Where you live i am sure there are tons of places to shop but where i live the closes walmart is 22 miles away and is THE ONLY place to purchase fabric. I do purchase fabric online but i have to pay alot more for it. I like to offer quality pet clothes at reasonable prices but when i have to pay 6-10$ for a yard of fabric it is hard to keep my prices low. The thing about Walmart is they MASS BUY fabric and can offer it at $4 a yard and i can't find it anywhere else for that. I like to offer unique items that noone else gets so i do buy alot of vintage materials because i like to be different when making my items. With that said i do buy alot of ginghams and polka dots as well as lining, diaper flannel and TONS OF PLASTIC for the diapers i sell. Walmart is the only place i have been able to find this plastic. i just wish you were a little more understanding and I can see your point about you not wanting it in your walmart but like i said you need to see mine as well. Hancock fabrics is over 50 miles from me and they charge double what Walmart charges. People don't want to pay 50 and 60$ for a dog dress. I know they do but i don't want to charge that and i put alot of time and effort into making my dresses durable and long lasting and in order to keep my pricing competitive it was really nice having the walmart fabric dept.!!! I can't compete with the overseas market who sell there items at 5 & 6$ but frankly my items are better made than those. I don't mass prodice i custom fit all my items to the customers measurements and they have to be perfect to make the customer happy. I sell my fancy dresses for alot less than other people but i might have to charge more as the cost of my materials increase after walmart leaves. I don't make a killing on what i do. I just enjoy doing it. if i were in the business to make a living i would charge 60$ for a dress like glamour dog and some of the other people out there.
So i hope you understand my point of view as well
