Here's the devils advocate part: Is she willing to give up the female at 12 weeks of age?
If not - don't back down - if you have something in writing - threaten a law suit. If you know an attorney, see how much they would pay to write a letter for you. (Sometimes $50...sometimes free!) Usually a letter is about all it takes for people like that.
I agree - she's seeing dollar signs on the small female and if you were promised the female - stick to your guns. Sneaky snakes...hate 'em!!! Good luck and keep us posted! |
This is good advice. I'd make it clear that you are very serious about the health and well being of both puppies, however there is a verbal and/or written contract stating that the female was to go to you in leiu of stud fees. Request the vets name/number and make it clear to her that you intend to see this agreement fulfilled. Remind her that since she cannot register until you sign off on the papers if she continues to pursue this avenue she will have an unregistered female that won't be worth as much as she thinks.
Start getting all this down in writing too - original conversations w/dates and all current conversations.
Good luck!
