I do have a rule that no one picks up my little dogs. Everyone wants to as they are so little. I have a Chin that weighs a little over 3 pounds. With kids I simply state that rule. No picking up. With adults I tell them that to not pick her/him up as he/she will jump out of your arms and get hurt. I try to put it on my animal as not being very smart. People can be rude and due to their little size they automatically think it's okay. Well, it's not. LOL
