Yes, you will be able to tell if it's infected. Kitty's private area ended up swelling like she was in heat but only half of it swollen up. It was red and blistery looking also. She's been on the antibiotic since Friday and by Sunday it was mostly cleared up. I'm glad you figured this out. Hope all clears up soon.
