I don't think you should mind your own business. Florida can get really humid and it will soon be too hot for any dog!

Call your local shelter and find out if they have a no-kill policy and then ask them what they do when they get in small purebred dogs, then take it from there. If the answers aren't in keeping with what we would all like to see happen then it would be time to find a rescue group and ask them for help. I realize that there are dogs out there that need a lot more help and are in life-threatening situations for the authorities to worry about but it is simply too dangerous for this little thing to be out alone. Where I live it isn't uncommon to see fox and coyote's running around the neighborhood, I suspect that it might be the same for you.

PLEASE do something - anything. Listen to your heart and then let your brain take over to figure out what can be done.
