Please don't put cotton in the ears when you shampoo a dog. The cotton will quickly absorb water and drain in the ears. After a shampoo just put the drops that dry the ears, hold the ear closed, rub in circles then take a cotton ball and wip out.
You don't need dawn to wash that ear oil off the hair. It isn't like grease. It washes right out even if you just use a wash cloth with just a smidgen of diluted doggie shampoo.
