Pepper used to have white 'patches' on his chest and legs but it was only a transition in his breaking of color. He's definitely getting darker, steel gray where the white used to be, I can tell by the darker roots. Still, he seems to be on the lighter side. If you post pictures, it will be much easier to visualize
