I would go ahead and let your vet know about your new addition and get he/she tested before exposing him/her to you other dogs. (I saw you have doggies on your avatar ) The giardia can cause dehydration and other issues so I would be really extra careful before introducing your new pup to any of your dogs until you know he/she is negative. Say if for instance the puppy poops on the kitchen floor, you clean it up and later your other dogs walk through they could pick it up if it was not cleaned with clorox. Clorox is pretty much the only 100% killer of giardia.
