Don't let a nay sayer get you down. You obviously have a heart of gold and honestly if you can afford to keep them in a safe, clean and loving home then go for it. I could undertand if you were one of those crazy animal collectors that are negligent and can't care for the animals.
If you have the room and want to do it then do it. Some people just never know when to mind their own dang business. What ever happened to the motto of "if you don't have something nice to say then say nothing at all".
