Animal lovers are some of the best people. I would ignore the all the negative comments and do what YOU feel is best. In the words of Bon Jovi, "It's my life. It's now or never. I ain't gonna live forever." So I say go adopt any dog you want!!
PS - When I was planning on getting my third dog, Cali Cupcake, my sister, father and grandma gave me and my hubby a lot of slack. They complained that we were always so busy and already had our hands full with two dogs and there was no need to get a third. Did I listen to them? Nope! And I'm so glad I didn't because if I would have, then I wouldn't have my little Cali girl (and she's such a JOY).
