We (myself, DH and our Yorkie Duke) are considering a move from Seattle to the Phoenix area within the next couple of years. I'm sure that Duke will love how hot it is (he's camped out in front of the heater right now and would be much happier if I'd let him stay downstairs in front of the fireplace.)

I'm wondering how dog-friendly an area it is. We have a lot of places, including some of the outdoor shopping centers here that welcome dogs - are there places down there like that?

DH will very likely be working in Tempe - how far out could we live if he only wanted to commute 30-45 minutes each way?
