Heck! I'm so used to sleeping on six inches of bed that I'd be lost if I had space to move around on.
There are no "rules"...you just want your little one to be safe. If you have a high bed, you'll need stairs so that they won't be trying to jump down and possibly break something. Take care and have fun cuddling with your yorkie!
