I use a thin plastic in between the diaper flannel and the cotton print. I also put a pad in my bodys bellybands. Just to absorb his urine. The bellyands i make are leak proof so if you don't use a pad then it absorbs in the flannel against his skin so poise pads are great for his bands. That way i don't have to worry about the urine soaking thru to my furniture or carpets.
