I believe what yorkierose meant was that only gaining 1 lb. after 8 weeks is not
average.And as everyone said you can only guess. My Katie, Max and Toby ended up being pretty close to what the weight chart estimated from their 12 week weight. Most people figure doubling their 12 week weight but as everyone has said, that is just an estimate. All dogs are different. My Katie is heavier than Max but to look at them Max looks bigger. He is a little leggier and has more hair. Katie's brother Toby more than doubled his weight. You must also remember that weight is not everything, some dogs can gain weight and get a bit pudgy......doesn't mean they are out of standard, just fat!
