I was the original buyer
I wasnt going to post to this thread because this situation was between me and Kathy and no one else. But since this thread is gaining some attention, i thought you should hear my side of the story. First of all everything that Kathy has stated is all true but there is more behind this. I did make sure I was going to be able to take her on board prior to getting there, I spoke to several people ( I can cite their names as well) and they told me what i needed and I got what I needed but once I got there. The attendant said my letter was from the wrong type of Dr. If it would have been on a weekday I would have been good to go because they said they would just call to verify.Since it was on the weekend my Dr.'s office was closed and thats when it became a problem.
Also K never told me what type of payment to pay her with, my other 2 girls I paid both with checks from other breeders and had no problems and since she cashed my deposit in a check I thought that was good enough for her to trust me. Again, she did not specify I could not pay with a check. I did not pay for her upfront at the airport after all this mess because I needed to know how and when I was going to be getting her and talk to my hubby before giving her the money, I did NOT, and do not expect her or anyone to send me a puppy without it being fully paid for. I was simply going to get back to her by Sunday or Monday on how I was going to get her and then send her another form of payment but once I told her that I needed to do this she became very hostile towards me and told me fine I will send you the deposit and just sell her to someone else and walked off. Meanwhile I am trying to catch up to her and she is speaking to me very rude making me look like a fool in front of people, very embarrasing for me.
So I flew back home and emailed her that night apologizing and hoping that she would understand that I had no control of what was going to happen I can only go by what the airline told me. She called my house since I told her to notify me asap on when I would be getting my deposit back, when she called she was very rude and started accusing me that I was ripping off the system and making it sound like I was lying. Now i don't need to explain my medical situation with anyone and telling me I used that as an excuse to get the puppy on board for free. This was my second time flying ever!!! Being that I don't like being enclosed for long perods of time, and since this was going to be very short flight I dealt with it but I do not abuse the system at all.
I do not agree with some of the things she is charging me, I asked her if she would take half and she said no, I am trying to resolve this issue in a kindly matter without bad mouthing one or another. Breeders have to watch their backs, just as we as buyers have to as well! I could have caused more problems than just what she has said and by emails as some of you breeders have probably dealt with a lot worse but I am not like that.
Again there was never a written contract or verbal agreement about my deposit. I know several breeders that I have spoken to mention this upfront and there is a contract...........
But thats that I said my side of the story, I thought I should say something, now that she has. I do NOT think that I am irresponsible or not trustworthy to breeders as I don't think Kathy is a bad breeder either, this just did not work out..............simple as that! I guess I will see if I do get any portion (as she said I was) of my deposit as I think I am entitled to. I am also currently talking to another breeder that is so wonderful and everything is in contract and all to protect both of us which thats how it should be!!!!!!!!! And this time I will not be taking SW now that I know....
I have learned soooo much and have met many wonderful people on this board, I hope none of this changes, there are always two sides to every story
