About the anti-diarrhea medication...I can't believe the vet told you to use that! We try to tell patients NOT to use those types of meds (Pepto, Immodium...etc...) because whatever's trying to get out just gets "stuck" in the bowels.

There's obviously something causing the diarrhea and he's having it for a reason. Personally, I wouldn't give the meds so that his little body can pass whatever the bacteria is.

That's just my opinion, though (based on what I've been taught for humans).

Jaden!
Thanks for the info! I must've typed something wrong though, the vet didn't give me anti-diareah medication. I gave Jaden the anti-diarahea medication myself last night. It's the one for small pets and I always keep a bottle of it on hand. He kept having diarahea like every 15 minutes so I gave it to him because I felt he was going to dehydrate himself. The vet gave me an antibiotic for him called metrodizine...something like that. It's suppose to calm his bowel movements but also kill any bacteria that might be in there. He said for me to stop giving him the Pepto now but that giving it to him last night was the right thing to do. He said not to give it to him now since that could coat his stomache and cause the antibiotics not to work like it should. We're not even sure it is a bacteria problem, Jadens a very sensitive little guy and the tiniest things can set him off. I dont know if while we were traveling he got a bite of something to rich for him or too fatty or if it's just from stress and anxiety. I don't know of anything he could've gotten into so I don't think it's something he ate but there's always that possability. My vet was putting him on the antibiotics as a precaution, he said that if he does have bacteria it will kill it and if he does't it won't hurt him at all and he'd rather be safe with these tiny guys because the smallest things can take such a toll on them. He's been practicing over 40 years and was in the Florida Vetrinary Journal as one of the top 100 best vets in the nation so I feel pretty confident in his opinion. I'm just hoping that poor Jaden will feel better soon. I feel so bad for him
