i gave indy a bath at 9 weeks cause he threw up on the way home from the breeders, i just made sure to keep him warm and dried him on low with warm air, he didnt freak out at all, but my pom freaks out so i think it depends on the puppy to. turn on the water and just put a bit on him and if he seems ok with the noise and feeling i say go for it, if not id use a damp cloth.
