OMG... I can't believe this! I just finished taking Nemo to the vet today because he had a bad case of vomiting shortly after 2 a.m. on Thursday and has had diarrhea since then.
It wasn't a terrible case so I put him on a bland diet and took him to the vet just to be on the safe side this morning. The doctor thinks it's just a case gastrointeritis (sp?) but now that I read this I'm worried that it may have been the Nutro Puppy Choice stew he last week!
He's such a picky eater that I decided to try this last week and he just loved it! He's had maybe a total of 7 small packages in the last month, the last package being sometime last week, but he never had a bad reaction. Would the problem occur up to a week later? He only vomited that early morning and only had diarrhea since then but I'm starting to freak out.
I'll be calling my vet as soon as I wake up tomorrow, I'm sure I mentioned he'd had the Nutro Choice in his diet but I'm not sure they were aware of the recall when I went in this morning. Would the blood panel show if this could be the problem? What are the symptoms to look for?
BTW, Nemo is doing quite well and has been his playful self even while being a little sick. He's been a little on the mopey side since early this evening but I think it's mainly due to the 24hr no food diet, now that he can't eat his appetite seems to be acting up. Wish us luck, let's just hope it's nothing really serious
