I took my 16 month yorkie male in to be neutered and the liver encymes test came back high. So, they did not do the neuter and they did a liver function test. It came back high too, so we were told that Mickey had Liver Shunt. I question the vets (the one I see had a day off) ability to say that without more tests being done and the scan. I have done some reading and belong to the Yorkie Meetup in San Diego and that group is filled with fabulous friends that are supportive with information about what they went through. I am worried sick because he is my baby, but I am trying to be strong because I don't want him to sense that I am stressed out. I think he already does. They are so smart. I love him unconditionally, no matter what his condition and I will do WHATEVER it takes to care for him. Please keep Mickey in your prayers. He shows no symptoms and is happy and playful. Our consultation with the internal medicine specialist is on Tuesday, March 20th.
