A reputable breeder would not be offended by inquires or references about her puppies. Ask her if you can talk to her vet. The breeder I bought my puppy from gave me her vets phone number and asked for our vets info.
She called and talked to our vet and I called and spoke to hers also.
Everything should be on the up and up. If not there are other breeders out there.
And just because she has said she has sold to clients on 5th Ave, that really means nothing. Look at all the celebrities who buy puppies from pet stores.
